Malta to buy swine flu vaccines from The Netherlands
Malta will be buying vaccines against swine flu from The Netherlands after an agreement between the two governments.
The deal was reached between Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and his Dutch counterpart Jan Peter Balkenende during a summit in Brussels.
Speaking during a press conference in Brussels today, Dr Gonzi said Malta would buy some of Holland’s extra stock of anti-swine flu vaccines.
A number of countries, including the UK and the US, have already started vaccinating their population against the H1N1 virus, which is causing a global pandemic after it was identified in Mexico last April.

G'day George Mifsud, i am from Parramatta mate, but all i can say is why look a gift horse in the mouth, i personally am thankful for small mercies, who cares whether its our friends the Dutch, the Germans or even the Welsh, the Japanese, the Aussies, the kiwis, as long as we get the flu vacinne somehow better late then never.

We are from the Netherlands retired in beautiful Malta, i would say the Maltese Government has made the right decession, he knows it makes sence as every Maltese citizen is entitled to it after all we are ALL in it together. Good Luck.

Hello a small population of 400k have not started ... well may resources or lack of initiative. anyway, are there going to be some restriction? do not to vaccinate children under 11 years of age. This vaccine has not been fully tested for any side effects hence the restricitons. Why this has to be a Prime Minister to reach a deal with the Dutch buying extra stock - discount please !!! dumping in Malta - Thank you very much . Just a a bit of humour from down under

IF I AM TO UNDERSTAND WELL, WHERE WE NOT ON THE BOOKING LIST, SINCE ACCORDING TO THE GOVT , WE HAVE JUST MADE AN ORDER NOW AND THAT IS OF THE SURPLUSE THAT ANOTHER COUNTRY HAS. SO MUCH FOR THE PROPAGANDA THAT WE ARE FULLY PREPARED. GOD HAVE MERCY ON MALTA.
