Can anyone illuminate me please? Is this a kind of game called Elimination or Shifting????? Could it be the the Black dust is settling on our lovely island after a Black Night or when Black cars zip our perfect roads? Or maybe it's caused by the peeling of the hard skin of Black Ants? Could it be because of the increase in the population of coloured people? Or the north winds are bringing droplets from the Black Sea. I bet it will take another 20 to 30 years until we have a result by the AUTHORITIES that this Mystery Black Dust is just people's imagination.!!!

Wasteserve also used to tell us that no odours come out of the Sant Antnin Plant. The public living in the South know the truth and they have no trust in whatever Wasteserve says. To us living in the South, Wasteserve is another inefficient unit and a burden on the taxpayer.

If it were Etna, would it not affect the whole island and not the only the would of Malta? Black dust in the south is only due to emissions from some UNKNOWN plant in the south.

i will believe your theory if the black dust is found all over malta and not just the south. it's a shame that after 10 YEARS studying from where this dust is coming from still today no conclusion.

Wasteserv should explain how their monitoring apparatus is recording NEGATIVE emissions !!!

If I were them I wouldn't be so convinced that what the incinerator is emitting is up to scratch.

There are different reasons for this black dust, but the most probable is the night burning of copper wire scrap that occurs in the vicinity of Zabbar. This is common practice in third world counties and leads to early childhood sickness. The most common is lukemea. There are people who do not care about others and will do anything to earn a buck. The authorities should do a bit of research and follow through with records of scrap merchants and where they get the scrap from. This burning of rubber can be done in some out of the way farm where they have high walls surrounds. The rising hot smoke and the wind currents do the rest. Remember that at night you cannot see black smoke. This is not easy but you can use computer programs to actually pinpoint from where the black smoke originates from. Give this as a project to the university students.

Is it that difficult to come to Marsa , near the power station, and collect some of the black dust which we find on our cars along with the acid rain, when the emissions of the power station are blown to our direction...Then the samples can be compared with those retreived from Fgura, Paola, Cospicua etc

Has anybody ever thought that the dust is not 'generated' here in Malta but maybe fallout from Etna. We must remember that Etna is not very far away and at times emits large amounts of volcanic dust high into to atmosphere. With the right prevailing winds it can easily be dumped on Malta?

Sometimes I get the feeling I'm living in a town out of "The Twilight Zone" series. A few weeks ago we had a foul smell across most of the Island the source of which, supposedly could not be traced! Now we have this "mysterious" black dust out of nowhere. What next? Crop circles? Alien abduction?

Has anybody asked if Enamalta is using recycled used vehicle oil(zejt mahruq) as fuel to generate the Marsa Power Station ?
