'This is it' attracts strong interest in local launch

The Michael Jackson movie 'This is it' started being shown in Malta and many other countries yesterday and response has been 'well above the norm' according to KRS film distributors.

The film is being shown in four cinemas locally for two weeks.

"It did very well in its mid-week opening day, compared to other films," said Alex Pace, a KRS director.

'This is It' had a star studded premiere in Los Angeles. Celebrities like Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez joined the singer's brothers to watch a screening of the much hyped film.

Several hundred fans, many of them wearing a signature, single-sequined glove, gathered at the city's Nokia Theatre, where stars walked the red carpet ahead of the premiere.

The film was culled from 80 hours of videotape taken of Jackson's final days of rehearsals for a series of London concerts.
