For the people who have never seen the wind turbines that generate electricity, above is a picture I took near Rio Vista, California, about an hour away from San Francisco. This is a new project being built right now and it is going to hold thousands of these turbines.
As one can see from the picture, they are making them bigger and bigger. Wherever you go across the US you can see these wind turbines being built, along with acres of huge solar panels, like for instance in Nevada.
There must be some benefits coming from wind turbines and solar panels as otherwise they would not be investing so much money in building them.
Taking a ride to the Altamont Pass near Livermore, one would be forgiven for thinking that one is in outer space. This is where the famous Livermore Lab is situated and I believe this is also where the first wind turbines originated as an experiment years ago.
One can also visit the Rio Vista project (same distance from San Francisco) and get closer to these giant wind turbines.
