Twelve state primary schools and and three secondary schools are missing a head of school, information given in parliament shows.

Education Minister Dolores Cristina said there are no heads of school in Bahrija, Birkirkara, Gharghur, Luqa, Mtarfa, Safi, Senglea, Sta Venera, Zabbar A and Zejtun B, Xaghra and Zebbug in Gozo.

Also missing a head of school are Naxxar Boys' Secondary School, Sta Venera Boys Junior Lyeum and Floriana Boys' School.

A call for applications is to be issued shortly.

The minister said there are no vacancies for assistant heads of school.
