I was so relieved when I took three British friends of mine to lunch at Wied iż-Żurrieq to see that at least eight boats were displaying life jackets. Alas, after lunch we headed down to the promenade and saw three fully-loaded boats with not one passenger wearing a life jacket.

It is a must that life jackets are issued to all passengers and are worn throughout the trip. A boat can capsize so quickly that no one would know it before they hit the water. Offenders must be penalised.
