I do not think Michael A. Cassar's comments in his letter Victoria Council's Silence (October 23) are fair or reasonable. First of all he cannot accuse the Victoria local council of being deaf and dumb because nobody answered his previous letter to The Times.
Everyone has the right to write letters in newspapers and choose the medium s/he prefers but there exists no right to get answered back in the same manner.
Had Mr Cassar contacted the council and remained unanswered I think he would have been justified to pass such comments. However, he did not.
The council has already explained the matter in its press release on the subject dated July 24 (which is still present on the council's website). May I reiterate my appeal contained in my letter to The Times of August 12, that everyone is cordially invited to come to the council's offices for any further information s/he requires.
