Fowl play

Some five ducks became the talk of the town when they suddenly appeared along the Sliema Front yesterday evening. Witnesses believe the fowl whose wings were clipped, were probably abandoned, because the area, close to the Surfside, is not popular with ducks. Some passers-by stopped to feed them but otherwise nobody knew what to do with them.

I love animals, and do have a soft spot for birds. Please, the Sliema promenade is not a place for these lovely animals. People mean well by feeding them, I know and it is nice to read of such, but it is simply not the right place for such birds. Sometimes animals are in danger simply because they get wrongly fed !!!
I would expect that the local council will take care of the matter and the birds put in a more suitable living environment.
Thank you.

The Sliema promenade is definitely not the place for ducks or other fowl, please. These bring only a dirty and foul-smelling atmosphere there. I hope the Sliema Council wakes up to this nuisance and bar it altogether!

The ducks were there on Sunday afternoon, somebody must have left them food in a container

Wings are clipped so that they will not fly. I guess they came all the way from the duck village which is very near or i hope not that they were someone's pets and they were fed up with them and left them there with the hope of finding themselves in the water.

what about taking them to Duck Village on Manoel Island? Seems obvious to me!
