As most drivers agree, Sunday is a terrible day for those who are not enjoying a relaxed day but are busy working. This is due to the simple fact that some drivers tend to drive at an average speed of 25 kilometres per hour.
For those driving to work or an appointment, this is hell.
Unfortunately, this is not only a Sunday problem.
A high number of drivers tend to drive all week round at this speed and, worst of all, on the outer lane.
To add to the frustration, as soon as you touch the horn or flash the lights to signal that they should move into the inner lane, these dream drivers go even slower or, even worse, call you names.
Although never involved in any traffic accident myself, I have personally witnessed a few near misses as some drivers tend to overtake on the inner lane, which is also as bad as driving at slow speeds on the outer lane.
Rightly so, local enforcement authorities tend to take action against speeding drivers but I very much doubt any action is taken against very slow drivers.
Although slow drivers are not the main cause of an accident, they can surely be an indirect cause.
I urge the respective authorities to start a campaign on slow driving especially on an outer lane of a dual carriageway as this could be as dangerous as fast driving.
