Shopowner mugged
A shopowner was robbed of €800 by a mugger as he was closing his shop in Paola last night, the police said.
The incident happened at Luqa Road, Paola, at 9 p.m.
The man was closing his shop when he was approached by a hooded man carrying a pistol, who demanded cash.
No one was injured.
Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera is holding an inquiry.

Being a regular visitor to Malta, I have always felt safe, but to read these regular incidents is becoming unnerving. Please don,t let Malta get like the UK, crack down on crime and drugs, and stop the silly suspended sentences and small fines. believe me if you don,t you will end up losing the streets like we have, Good luck.
