Good point . But what we need is to follow Italy's example and refuse entry to any illegal immigrants and send them back .
The illegal immigrants that are already here should be deported . All of them including the ones in open and closed centres .
We owe them nothing , they are not our responsibility and we should not be burdened with them . Most of them in any case have absolutely no appreciation for what we are doing for them , for their rescue etc..
They are a total waste of our money .

Well Mr Mohammed Sungare, actually we don't want you here, but on the other hand, we don't want you to leave either. So tell your friends that want to come to Malta, once here they are stuck here, tell them to bypass Malta altogether and proceed directly to another EU state.

@Deo Catania You're not seeing the big picture. The message should be, "once you come here, you're stuck here". That is the very reason the recent boatload of 250 immigrants refused to come here but chose Italy. They know it is a dead end. We must make sure it stays that way or else we will be swamped.

Do the persons that catch them know that if they turn a blind eye and let them leave they are doing a big big big favour to the nation .

We should be happy that he tried to escape. Pity he did not succeed.
