Foundation donates €16,000 nurse call system
The Vodafone Malta Foundation has donated €16,900 for the purchase of a nurse call alarm system currently being installed at Casa Leone XIII, a Church Home for the Elderly.
Josephine Mercieca, Administrator at Casa Leone, said that the new system was making an incredible difference in the home, not only in the quality of care given to the residents, but also in the level of security and safety they felt.
"When our residents need help or have a question for the nurse, they have an easily accessible and reliable way to call for assistance. They feel so much more at peace now because even if they are in the bathroom, they need only to push a button which is readily available, and help arrives right away."

I hold no brief for Vodafone. However, I can't help noticing that, with the exception of one, Mr Barrett, no one saw fit to post a note of commendation for Vodafone Foundation's generous donation to Casa Leone, helping the Home to purchase a nurse call alarm system. What's more, again none felt that they should applaud the Foundation for its donation to Palazzo Falson, enabling the Museum to invest in an upgraded audio guide system. Let Vodafone distribute condoms for free to University students and all hell breaks loose. How miserable and wretched many people in this country can be.

This is a good and valuable donation. Unfortunately it is likely to have less publicity and thus less advertising value for Vodafone than giving away a couple of cheap condoms at the Uni. Such is life.
