• The Maltese Association of Psychiatric Nurses will be holding an Elderly Mental Health Conference on Monday and Tuesday at the Corinthia Palace Hotel and Spa in Attard. Various speakers will be tackling diverse topics related to mental health care in the elderly. Professionals, carers, student and anyone interested in the care of the elderly are invited to attend. • To celebrate the feast of St Judas Thaddeus, a Mass will be celebrated at the Capuchins church of St Barbara, Kalkara, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. by Fr Hayden Williams, OFM Cap., assisted by local Capuchin friars. Fr Emmanuel Barbara, OFM Cap., will deliver the homily. The Mother Margherita choir of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart will also participate.

• A talk on Breast awareness will be held at the Zabbar local council's hall on Thursday at 6 p.m. The main speakers will include Shirley Fenech Imbroll - Breast Care Nurse at Mater Dei Hospital, and two other speakers from the Breast Care Support Group. Breast self-examination will be explained in detail, together with an explanation of risk factors and ways of reducing them.

• The next meeting of the San Gorg Preca Group will be held on Friday at 6.30 p.m. at the MUSEUM headquarters at Blata l-Bajda (entrance next to Preca Library). Young couples and mature adults are especially invited.

• The Friends of Australia Association - Gozo Branch will be holding a farewell lunch for the outgoing Australian High Commissioner in Malta on November 1 at noon at the El Dorado restaurant, Victoria.
