Man dies while swimming
A 58-year-old man died yesterday while he was swimming at Ramla Bay, the police said.
The man from Xaghra, who lives overseas and was on holiday in Gozo, found himself in difficulty as he was swimming. A passer- by called an ambulance but the man was certified dead on the spot.
The sea has been rough in recent days due to high wind, but it is not known what caused the man's death.
The police are investigating and an inquiry is underway.
