I would like to publicly thank my friends who helped me on the long road to a successful conclusion of our court case related to an unfortunate experience in 1995, which has recently made headlines.
It is gratifying to see that justice has been done, albeit only in part, and after 14 years. The award is some six figures short of our actual loss and is cruelly tarnished by the passing away of the co-plaintiff, mid-stream, after an ordeal of suffering caused by the incident.
To those retired judges, however, who shed much light on this difficult case, I express my gratitude and appreciation; and to my colleague, Joe Schembri, the standard-bearer of a legal band of brothers in the search of clarity and intensity of proof to satisfy the court.
And not forgetting, regrettably posthumously, the late Judge Riccardo Farrugia, who said he found, a few weeks before his death and with an expression of delight, our submissions acceptable at law.
To all, my heartfelt gratitude.
