I would like to underline my deep appreciation for Sina Farrugia Micallef's ceramic and other works exhibited at the National Museum of Fine Arts. In the midst of general artistic depression exhibitions like this are a vital breath of fresh creative wind so essential for all artists.
The importance of her works is not limited to her excellent technique and craft but goes beyond - touching philosophical and existential quests without which no work of art can claim to be. Furthermore, Ms Farrugia Micallef succeeds to unearth the lost feeling of the Heideggerean 'world' and she does this with a feminised masculinity enshrined in a Maltese-Mediterranean primitive beauty.
I sincerely hope that the National Museum of Fine Arts succeeds to retain this level of artistic quality and talent for years to come.
