Maltese scouts took part in the 52nd Jamboree on the air (Jota) and 13th Jamboree on the internet (Joti) last weekend, using microphones, web browsers, e-mail, chat programmes, scanners and digital cameras to communicate with scouts worldwide. The Malta Amateur Radio League helped the scouts use amateur frequencies to participate in the Jota.
During the weekend, scouts worldwide registered over 3,000 new actions to protect the environment on the 'Race for Environment' website. Some 6,400 actions are already being undertaken.
The Birkirkara, Birzebbuga, Cospicua, Fgura, Gzira, Hamrun, Mellieha, Mosta, Msida, Naxxar, Rabat, Zebbug, San Anton School, Sliema, St Augustine College, St Michael's College, St Venera, Xaghajra, Xaghra and Zurrieq scout groups participated in the event.
