St Catherine's High School, Pembroke, held its annual commemoration of Animal Awareness Day on the feast of St Francis on October 4. The aim was to make its students, staff and families more aware of the importance respecting, protecting, and taking care of animals.

This year, students and their parents brought around 50 different pets to the school for two hours including dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, fish, tortoises, and rabbits,.

As part of the activity, the school raised funds for a local non-governmental organisation that supports animal rights.
