Obituary

CATANIA. On October 23, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHARLES, aged 65, from Paola, comforted by the rites of Holy church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters Albert, Miriam, Wanda, Antoinette and her husband Manuel Fauré, Josie and his wife Marthese, Godwin and his wife Marija, his nephews and nieces Melanie and her fiancé Jason, Josie and his wife Claudine and their daughter Julienne, Lara, Kristian and his fiancée Gabriella, Kurt, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Christ the King parish church in Paola where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors at home. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

DUNNING - DIANA SHIRLEY, died peacefully on October 23, at Villa Messina, Rabat, aged 83. Much loved mother of Belinda, grandmother of Meagan and Sarah and great-grandmother of Emily, Tess, Isabel and Michael. She bore her ill health with great fortitude and we celebrate her indomitable spirit and strength of character. Heartfelt thanks to Jane Schembri and all the staff at Villa Messina.

Muicians' Guild extraordinary meeting

The Guild for Maltese Composers, Authors, Singers and Musicians - UKAM (Unjoni ta' Kompożituri, Kantanti, Awturi u Mużiċisti Maltin) is calling a special extraordinary meeting on November 2 at 7 p.m. at the Excelsior Hotel, Valletta.

During this meeting special attention will be given to the problem faced by all involved with the distribution of royalty earnings from the Performing Rights Society (PRS for Music) London. Anyone involved in the music industry is invited to attend - whether an existing UKAM member or not.

Gozo graduates mass

The Gozitan Graduates Movement invites graduates and members of all professions in Gozo for First Friday Mass on November 6 at 8.30 p.m.

Mass will be said by Fr Peter Paul Cachia OSA at St Augustine's Church in Victoria.

Fund raising marathon on TV

Inspire, the Foundation for Inclusion, will hold a Għinna Ngħinu (help us to help), a TV fund raising marathon, on November 8 between 4 and 11 p.m.

The public is being encouraged to "Be Inspired" and organise their own fundraising activities in aid of the charity, which activities can then be sent in and aired on TV.

International cat show

Several feline breeds will be showing off their lovely winter coats today during the 14th International Cat Show at the City Theatre, in South Street, Valletta, between 10.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m.

Hosted by the Malta Feline Guardians Club, the show will include breeds such as Persian, exotic, Sphynx, British long hair, Maine Coons, Russian blue cats, and the Maltese Domestic cat. Two World Cat Federation judges will be rating the categories.
