Updated: Swimmer dies at Ramla Bay

A 58-year-old Maltese man has died after finding himself in difficulties while swimming at Ramla l-Hamra in Gozo.

The man was assisted by people on the site until an ambulance arrived, but medical assistance proved futile.

The man lives abroad and had been on holiday in Gozo.

Magistrate A. Ellul is holding an inquiry.
