The six swimmers from the Vodafone Malta Foundation sponsored-Special Olympics Malta competed with success in the European Special Olympics Aquatics Championships held in Palma di Mallorca, Spain, this month.

The Maltese team won a total of 10 medals and placed among the top eight countries in the final classification. In all, 38 countries were represented besides swimmers from Spanish regions.

Alexia Wetz, Maria Wetz, Charmaine Mifsud, John Paul Fenech, Nathaniel Grasso and Ivan Mangion were the members of the Malta team. They were led by coach Naomi Sultana Micallef and assistant Elaine Bonnici.
