Immigrants remanded in custody
Two immigrants who had injured another during a fight over khat at the Hal Far tent village on October 4 have been remanded in custody.
Somali Abdalla Mahammud Abdirahmaan and Hassan Mohamed Weliyo pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Osman Hassan.
Police inspector Anthony Portelli told the court that this was a massive fight in which a person had been seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital.

The report does not mention the fact that Khat is an amphetamine-like stimulant; an illegal drug in many countries.

I don't know how many people will agree with my comment hereunder, but isn't this attitude a primitive custom which is an immediate example to tribalism? One last point which i consider as aprimary concern regarding immigration, if Malta should bend to the directives being pushed by EU, where we have to process immigrants within six months from arrival date, doesn't it increase this type of violent risk?
