Education Ministry: MUT can visit schools
The Education Ministry has again rebutted claims by the Malta Union of Teachers that its officials were not being allowed to visit state schools.
The ministry said in a statement this evening there had ever been any difficulty with this, as long as the visits were carried out in agreement with the education authorities and in a way which was not detrimental to lessons.
The Malta Union of Teachers said yesterday that its president and senior vice-president had gone to the kindergarten centre at Mosta Primary A to investigate long-standing reports of overcrowding but they were denied entry.
The ministry said it was not true that the minister was being confrontational with the union and before this incident she had invited the MUT for a meeting to discuss pending issues. This invitation was still open.
The Educational Services directorate said that MUT officials who visited the Mosta school yesterday went to measure classrooms during lessons and without giving any prior notice.

Maybe if they visit GC Higher Secondary School in Naxxar they can bring with them an IT teacher. Students have already missed 2 weeks of IT classes (14 lessons that is). Surely this is going to make it that much more difficult to cover the A-Level syllabus in time, so putting more pressure on the students.
URGENT ATTENION REQUIRED PLEASE!!

Not underestimating at all the Minister may I please view my point.... Mosta was always a problem with overcrowding of classes has the building grown since then I humbly ask..sheduled meetings would indeed be convienient...but if on the otherhand spot checks were made then the truth would be found out...spot checks MUT keep up the good work.....children are not chickens thrown in a pan and teacher are not robots..Thank God someone cares.....
