I refer to Mayor Peter Bonello's letter with regard to parking problems in St Julians (October 21).
I live in the area called The Gardens and notwithstanding the notices indicating the hours of parking (which are very generous) for non-residents I always find it extremely difficult to find a parking place if I happen to return home after 9 p.m.
And I am not saying that I insist on finding a place next door to my house!
What really disturbs me is the fact that apparently no wardens or police officers ever do the rounds of the area in the evening, because if they did, how come I still find the same cars, without the St Julians residents permit, parked at the same place where I left them in the evening? How come that a foreign plated car is always parked at the roundabout at all hours of the day and night without ever any warden checking upon it? Or is this some particular resident who has qualities for which we normal residents do not classify?
I would suggest Mr Bonello take these "petty" matters, as they refer to them when one goes to complain at the local council, more seriously, and not for election purposes, but for his own self-esteem as a mayor and representative of the St Julians residents.
