The 2009 Conference of the Sectoral e-Business Watch, a programme of DG Enterprise and Industry, will take place on October 29, 2009, in Brussels, Hotel Bloom.
This conference focuses on the economic impact of ICT on innovation and environmental sustainability as well as on resulting implications for competitiveness and policy.
The main theme of the morning sessions is "ICT and sustainability", the main theme of the afternoon "ICT and industrial policy".
The conference brings together professionals who face these issues in their work.

November 2-3, Eco-Efficient Economy - Towards innovative and sustainable competitiveness
The aim of the conference is to encourage mobilisation across Europe for the development of a sustainable industrial policy and to show, using good examples, how European industry can strengthen its competitiveness while meeting the climate challenge.

November 18, Conference: Educating a New Generation of ICT Standards Professionals
Standards play an increasingly important role for information and communication technologies (ICT).
For this reason, the European Commission will be holding a public event to discuss the development of training programmes to support the involvement of different interest groups in ICT European standardisation.

November 20, European e-Skills Conference
The European e-Skills Conference will bring together experts from governments, academia, ICT industry, ICT professional bodies and other stakeholders.
The conference will address the crucial importance of ICT Professionalism for the EU economy and society; as well as the progress of the implementation of e-skills strategy and projects. It will also look at the road ahead for a coordinated strategy to foster ICT professionalism, e-skills and innovation for economic recovery.
