Tennis legend Pat Cash will be visiting Gozo in the last week of October.

The visit is being arranged by the Malta Tourism Authority with the support of Air Malta and Vintage Travel.

Cash's visit will be featured in the Condé Nast Traveller's bumper January 2010 issue. Condé Nast is a top of the league travel magazine in the UK.

During his stay, Cash will also conduct a tennis clinic at the Marsa Sports Club, sponsored by the Malta Tennis Federation and the Marsa Sports Club.

Former Malta champion Gordon Asciak and Robert Tarpey are due to join Australian Cash for the session.

Alex Incorvaja, the Malta Tourism Authority's UK and Ireland director, said: "Pat Cash is a former Wimbledon champion, so it's really fantastic he is going to spend some of his time with young Maltese tennis players and offering invaluable experience and tennis tips.

"We also want to give Cash the opportunity to experience the countless and diverse activities available to travellers who visit Gozo.

"It is our sponsorship of BNP Parisbas Fortis Tennis Classic, held earlier this year at the prestigious Hurlingham club, that has enabled the partnership with Pat Cash and thus with Condé Nast Traveller. To be associated with high-profile events such as this is paramount as we aim to reach a wider audience."

Other stars at the BNP Parisbas Fortis Tennis Classic, a non ranking pre-Wimbledon warm-up event, included Leyton Hewitt, Rafael Nadal and Marat Safin, as well as veteran Greg Rusedski, making the tournament a must in the British tennis calendar.
