Melita CEO to hand over the reins
Melita CEO Stephen Wright will be handing over the reins to Andrei Torriani, the Chief Operations Officer, at the end of the year, Melita announced this afternoon.
Mr Torriani joined Melita as Managing Director of Melita Mobile and Chief Operating Officer of Melita plc in July. Prior to joining Melita, he led Telefonica O2’s consumer focused telecommunications business in the Czech Republic, covering a portfolio of advanced mobile, broadband, fixed telephony and pay-tv services to over seven million customers. His experience also includes several senior roles with telecom operators throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Mr Wright said he has every confidence that Melita would continue to grow and strengthen its leading position in home entertainment and communication services.
During his two years in Malta, first as Melita’s Chief Operations Officer and later as Chief Executive Officer, Mr Wright led Melita through the restructuring of the company’s top management and a rebranding exercise. He also steered the launch of Melita Mobile, the laying of a submarine fibre optic cable connection between Malta and Sicily and the consolidation of Melita’s position as a leading provider of home entertainment and telecommunication services.

I get a call on my mobile from the 27270000 average twice monthly. When I pick, nobody answers.

Melita's current CEO got the rebranding and the introduction to the market of Melita mobile right, but failed miserably when it comes to the actual operations of the mobile service. Many people including myself are complaining for the very poor reception we get on our mobiles. When one gets inside a building no matter where the reception goes null!

Do the Internet providers, portable telephone companies, TV providers pay VAT.?
Receipts do not show any.

On the 14th of October I sent a message to their Sales team via their website to ask them a question on mobile number portability. On the same day their automated system sent me a copy of my message (via e-mail) but after one week, the Melita Sales team still did not answer my question! And dont forget this was a question addressed to the Sales team ... it was in their interest to reply so that they sell me one of their services! But they did not do that! I can imagine if I had to send a message to their customer care how quickly they would reply!!!!

I have recieved plenty of calls from melita without an answer. Actually the few times that they answered it was to push me to switch from analouge reception to digital. Every time i said that i wasn't interested, but representatives still continued to phone me as nauseam.
Also i booked a wifi cable modem, and when the technican came to install it he didn't manage to connect my laptop to the network. I had to bring in another technician at my expense to have the problem fixed.

On one occasion, it took them 8 months to completely close a service, during which bills were sent (and finally a fine and threatening notice.
Customer service is also quite lacking (but not the worst).
Technical service is....not so technical.
I wouldn't reccomend Melita to anyone.

Ionly have one service from melita, the digital tv +sports channel and i am always on the brink to get rid of this malservice. They advertise that they are going to stream the malta natinal football team matches live.......tune to watch malta vs portugal and you found nothing, the same applies to the game argentina vs brasil and so on.The worse of all is that the sports channel is always on the increase in terms of monthly charges and on the decrease in terms of service especially to those relating to customer care and what they advertise is far from reality. So if I have all these concerns with only one service what other costumers have, if especially have the whole package? We have got it wrong from Mr Wright so what be if we get Mr Wrong!!!!

it can be that Melita MIGHT have the best internet connection but when it comes to mobile sorry to say it's a total disappointment. It took them 7 months to come and check what level of frequency we have at home as we weren't able to use our mobiles. they gave us what they call a booster but to our surprise it doesn't cover the whole house but just the floor where the booster is plugged. Hallelulja.....

About time! Melita is a company that just tries everything to get you become their customer - but then forgets you for good in terms of customer care and aftersales.
