Loyola and Hibs complete semi-final line-up

Loyola Allcare Insurance and Hibs Medsea joined Depiro and Luxol in the semi-finals of the MBA Shield after victories over Starlites and Athleta respectively.

In the semi-finals, scheduled for January 28, Depiro will face Hibs and Luxol will meet Loyola.

The third quarter proved fatal for Starlites in their clash with Loyola. The game was balanced with no side capable of pulling clear.

Loyola led Starlites by a basket at lemon time, 23-21. It was after the fifth minute of the third quarter that Loyola made the most of Starlites' decline as they went on a 16-1 break on their way to a 49-37 victory.

Hibs came from behind to dominate the second and third quarters against Athleta. It was Athleta who had the early edge, finishing the first session 14-10 in front.

Hibs were a transformed side as the second quarter got underway.

They gained the upperhand to change ends 35-16 ahead. Until the final whistle, Hibs were never troubled by Athleta as they ran out 68-38 winners.
