A poster showing the face of a boy put up at Valletta’s Missionary Village 2009, which came to an end yesterday, World Mission Sunday. A series of tents were pitched at Freedom Square with the aim of raising funds and awareness about social and economic poverty worldwide. World Mission Sunday was described by John Paul II as “an important day in the life of the Church because it teaches how to give”. Money raised goes into a central fund and is then distributed to all registered missions.
