Malta's first Chocolate Festival will be held this Saturday evening in Hamrun.

The activity will be hosted by Hamrun council with assistance from the Secretariat for Public Information and the Secretariat for Tourism.

The festival will feature exhibitions of chocolate sculptures, cocktails, a big chocolate railway, chocolate products and a range of food that includes chocolate.

There will also be an exhibition on the history of chocolate, a display of of Victorian era chocolate tins and a section on the use of chocolate in beauty products.

A historic re-enactment will feature the serving of a chocolate-based drink at the time of Grand Master Perellos.

There will also be food stands and entertainment.

Events start at 7 p.m.

The festival will take place in the streets between the Hamrun Scouts headquarters and the Immaculate Conception Church. There will be a children's corner.

A free park and ride service will operate from the Park and Ride in Blata l-Bajda.
