A group of 20 postgraduate University law students, accompanied by Prof. Eugene Buttigieg, recently toured the European institutions in Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg, including the European Commission, the Council, the European Parliament and the European Court of Auditors.
The students met high-profile officials at the various institutions. At the European Court of Human Rights they met Mr Justice Giovanni Bonello, and attended a hearing at the European Court of Justice, at which former Maltese Attorney General Mr Justice Anthony Borg Barthet sat on the bench.
They also visited the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and Dar Malta in Brussels.
The study trip was sponsored by the European Parliament.
