Traditional Maltese wedding at Marsaxlokk festival
A man and a woman got married at Marsaxlokk today - not for real but during a revival of Maltese traditions at a festival celebrating the fishing village.
The festival, which started yesterday, included fish cooking demonstrations, a concert by George Curmi il-Puse, folk singing, live concerts, parades, dance and street decorations.
Sunday’s popular fish market provided the Marsaxlokk festival with the perfect backdrop.

Very few couples today get married for real! I believe that those two in the picture would have raised a happy family.

What a great idea to bring back our fathers' traditions to light. But I wish more research goes into the design of costumes. So many people see these activities which are not showing the exact details of what our ancestors really wore..................pity we could learn so much from them.
