Qala folk festival

The Qala International Folk Festival by Qala council and Menħir Folk Group came to an end last Sunday. Taking part in the four-day festival were groups from Slovakia and Greece. The Menħir Folk Group and other local groups also participated. A conference on local folklore was held at the Citadel Centre for Culture and Arts in Victoria. A re-enactment of a traditional wedding was staged along the streets of Qala followed by a festin of traditional wedding delicacies. An exhibition of Gozitan and Maltese traditional hand-crafts was also put up.
