Joseph Bezzina, assistant national archivist, explains to Paul Curmi, HSBC's Gozo area director, the importance of the medical documents displayed at the exhibition.

An exhibition of 30 historical documents, etchings, plans and photographs related to herbs, health and hospitals of Gozo in the past is on display at the National Archives in Victoria. The exhibited items were selected from several of the 27 entities whose records are deposited at the Archives' Gozo Section.

The exhibition, made possible through a HSBC sponsorship, documents almost 500 years of medical practice in Gozo. Besides commemorating the 20th anniversary of the inauguration of the National Archives in Gozo, this exhibition also coincides with the Archives Awareness Week being held in Gozo for the fifth consecutive year.
