Work in a Peru mission
Five years ago I went to La Tomilla in Arequipa, Peru, where I spent two months doing missionary work among the people of this poor village.
Working there is Gozitan missionary Fr Govann Cefai Camilleri, who dedicates his life to these poor people.
I've always helped him through donations I collect from time to time.
In a few days I will be travelling back to La Tomilla, this time just for 15 days due to my present work as mayor.

It would have been more beneficial if the money spent on the trip would have been donated directly to these poor people in Peru. This is the same Mayor, Mario Calleja who wrote a shocking, article in The Times on July 24, 2006 against the illegal immigrants entitled. ‘The looming crises’. No apologies were made since. The church hierarchy has to put a stop to these so called do-gooders trying to mask behind the goodness of the church for their own intentions.
