Updated: Slovak charged with importing cocaine
A Slovak who was found with cocaine capsules in his stomach following his arrival at Malta on a direct flight from Brussels has admitted to conspiring to traffic and importing the drug.
Mikulas Vilaga, 26, was stopped at the airport on Wednesday after he was seen acting in a suspicious manner. He was examined at Mater Dei Hospital where he was found to be carrying a kilo of cocaine in around 100 capsules.
This was not the first time that the man came to Malta.
The police told the court that eight of the capsules were still in his stomach.
Mr Vilaga, a construction worker, was also charged with possession of the drug in circumstances which denoted it was not for his personal use.

Well done for the capture.
Regretfully, the tip off to the Customs and/or the Police normally comes from the same persons involved in drug importation.
They tip off a small courier and whilst the attention is on the capture of this courier, two or more courier manage to pass unnoticed with much more drugs.
Is it possible no one noticed this?

"This was not the first time that the man came to Malta."
Quite likely, though, it'll be the last time. But first, he can enjoy the hospitality of the Maltese state at Corradino.
