The National Park at Ta' Qali is being extended for the fourth time, with an Adventure Park set for completion in December.

Resources Minister George Pullicino said this would be a unique attraction to the Maltese islands, featuring fitness equipment for adults as well as play equipment for children.

The park will have five areas for children, one multi-purpose space, and a high rope course for young adults. More adventure equipment will be added next year, such as more rope courses and a climbing tower, and a cycling and jogging track both in the adventure park as well as around the picnic area.

The equipment currently being installed was bought with funds donated by the American Embassy. Bank of Valletta also contributed to the financing of the project which has a total value of €1.3 million, the minister said.

The project also includes five water features, public conveniences, catering facilities and changing rooms. Some of the water features are interactive. There will also be play equipment for persons with disabilities.
