In November 2007 the police received a report that a Rottweiler dog had killed a poodle. The owner of the Rottweiler had been arraigned in court and fined Lm50 (€116.47), and there are currently criminal procedures pending against two members of his family for allegedly failing to muzzle the dog and not keeping it under their control.

The information was given by Justice Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici in reply to a parliamentary question by Evarist Bartolo (PL).
