Man finds himself in difficulties while swimming

A Bulgarian man, 53, resident of Ta' Xbiex, is receiving hospital treatment after finding himself in difficulties while swimming in Golden Bay this afternoon.

The incident happened at about 1.30 p.m.

The man was pulled to shore by people on site. His condition was described as serious but not life threatening.
