A 57-year-old driver from Luqa is in critical condition after he crashed into a tree at the Għaxaq by-pass yesterday evening. Personnel from the Civil Protection Department freed the driver from the wrecked Hyundai Accent. Sources said the driver had sustained head and chest injuries.
