Invitation to Madliena's atrocious roads

Just in case my last letter written on behalf of the residents of Madliena went unnoticed by the local council of Swieqi, which we unfortunately fall under, and also by the minister responsible for our roads, I would like to bring to their attention that nothing has been done to alleviate the daily saga faced by the residents of Madliena, who have to drive through these roads that resemble more the surface of the moon than those of one of what is considered one of the better residential areas in Malta.
The roads have now reached such a bad state that with the rains coming it will be impossible to avoid them especially when full of water. Maybe we should issue GPS settings in our cars and have all the potholes marked or, better still, install poles to tell us how deep the potholes are!
The residents of Madliena are fed up of hearing excuses from both the local council and the central government and I would like to invite the minister to drive through Madliena with his wonderful car provided by the citizens of Malta, or maybe take a chance with his private car to see for himself the state of these roads. Concrete action is expected and nothing less.
The local council has been ignoring the residents of Madliena for too long and my recommendation to these residents is that Madliena should have its own council in which their interests are catered for.
Enough is enough!
