Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said yesterday he hoped the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Barack Obama would provide “further stimulus” to an improvement in US-Russia relations.

“I see this step by the Nobel Committee as evidence of a realistic vision of the dynamics of global development,” Medvedev said in a statement in which he congratulated Obama.
