The government does not plan to privatise Air Malta, and comments in this sense by Opposition leader Joseph Muscat this morning only served to harm tourism, the Finance Ministry said this afternoon.

The ministry also denied that there was any U-turn on the gaming regulations and said the government remained committed to protecting the most vulnerable in society.

The ministry pointed out that unlicensed gaming arcades had been closed down, and it would continue to enforce the law and fight abuse.
