Schools are being invited to take part in organised tours of Argotti Botanic Gardens, Floriana. Visits may be of one or one-and-a-half hours in duration, comprising a short talk, a tour of the gardens and hands-on practical exercises. Groups may not exceed 25 students and are to be accompanied by a teacher. Two or more groups from the same school may be accommodated in the same morning.

Talks and tours will be adapted to different age groups, ranging from Year 1 Primary to Form 5 students. Separate arrangements can be made for biology and geography teachers to bring groups for botany-related lectures and practicals.

This year, a number of loan boxes of plant material will be made available to each school to enhance interactive learning within classrooms.

The tours may be held from Monday to Friday mornings by appointment only. For bookings call 2124 8984, 2123 3485 or e-mail argottigardens@gmail.com.
