As cars spill into the car parks at the University drivers wear frowns and curse under their breath as they are forced to circumnavigate the University time and time again in search of a precious parking place; but there is none. The spot to student ratio is ridiculous and the authorities must do something in order to provide a better service.
If they couldn't be dedicated enough to provide a service then why should students even bother? Our lectures are being made completely inaccessible due to the lethargic nature of a bunch of people. How is one expected to attend one's lectures if our car parks are a total mess?
For three years I've watched the parking situation deteriorate and petition after petition have failed to make any impact. Staying in and studying from home seems like the only option and my sincerest of apologies go out to my lecturers for my absenteeism.
My effort was there, however, it was quashed by others' lack of initiative. People in power need to scratch their heads and deliver a solution before more lectures are missed and more grades are made to suffer.
Our University is growing and blossoming into one of Europe's finest, however the stain that is our parking issue needs to be addressed as it serves to quell the growth of our University, and our people.
It's time to do whatever it takes, or risk facing serious consequences. Next year will see a fresh influx of students and our car parks can't cope with today's amount, let alone the amount in years to come. Time to put your thinking caps on and solve the problem, once and for all.
