One killed as train crashes in Spanish station

One person was killed and four others were hurt yesterday when a passenger train crashed into the end of its railway track in a station in the northern Spanish town of Lezama, a spokesman for the Basque Country regional government said.

Rescue workers were still trying to rescue the train's conductor, who was one of the injured.

The cause of the accident was so far unknown, the spokesman said.
