Youths discuss their experiences as volunteers
Youths recounted their experiences as volunteers in some of the poorest regions of the world when they yesterday met Archbishop Paul Cremona and Parliamentary Secretary Clyde Puli at the opening of Youth Week activities.
The activity, held at the old power station at Valletta Waterfront, attracted some 200 young people.
Mgr Cremona described the volunteers as the best ambassadors of the church and their country and praised them for their commitment and effort.
Mr Puli urged more young people to promote the spirit of solidarity and service.

I would like to congratulate and give praise to all the volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to help those in need. As has been very well said by Christine Brincat in the video clip it is a wonderful and enriching experience. I myself went to Brazil to help the Augustinian missionaries to help out during their missionary work among the poor - and I can personally vouch that it has been an unforgettable experience that I will never forget. I would recommend everyone to go on such a wonderful experience.
The Augustinian Missionary Secreteriat is currently looking for volunteers to help in its missions in Brazil in Summer 2010. All those interested can contact Fr Mario Abela OSA - Milleniun Chapel, Paceville Tel. 21354464

When you volunteer and you help someone, you feel better and useful. Giving even an hour a week/month can make the difference between helping someone and leaving them to fend for themselves. For volunteering opportunities with the world's largest volunteer organisation, contact the Malta Red Cross - First Malta Branch on 7900112 or mrc1administration and see how you can help.
