Updated: Hal Far fight was "between tribes"
A fight between migrants at Hal Far open centre on Sunday was a fight between tribes, a court was told this morning.
Police Inspector Anthony Portelli said the fight developed after a number of migrants resident at Marsa open centre went to Hal Far for a supply of Khat.
The court was hearing evidence in the case instituted against Mustaf Abdi Bihi 24, who stands accused of seriously injuring Hussein Ali Omar when he threw stones at him.
Mr Bihi was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.
Another migrant was stabbed and grievously injured in the same fight. Fakariye Alaf Hasan, 20, was accused of the attempted murder of that migrant and pleaded not guilty.
Inspector Portelli said the victim was in imminent danger of dying.
Bail was refused.

How dare bloggers here trivialise 'tribal warfare' as it happens in Africa with soccer or village festa violence.
Tribal warfare has resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives in genocides all over Africa. And yes, I am afraid that contrary to what the EU Media spin wishes us to believe, you cannot integrate the un-integratable. All you have to do is take a look around the world where such 'migrants' have been settled and you will see that crime, murder and strife follow. Never mind the Media spin guys, read more and do some research.

Yes, this is true, but those who were caught with Khat were liberated in consideration of "Cultural Customs" and those with marijuana got stiff jail sentences.
If we continue at this rate, our Courts will soon be allowing all sorts of illegal activities, from Polygamy, Child marriages, and Honour killings, due to our respect for diverse cultures and their sensitivities.

Anyone who has some basic knowledge of ethnology will know that Africa is a tribal society and you can't change it!
Our politicians don't though... Malta in the meantime is suffering and all this will lead to its destruction in 50 years time.

or how local people act in paceville during a brawl over a feast, or over petty politics..
I'm not justifying wrong with wrong, this alleged fight between tribes was despicable as well, but let us not glorify ourselves on an imaginary pedestal.

Thee people who comment here forget how Europeans behave at football games and how Maltese gangs behave in Paceville.
Superiority complex alert!

have you forgotten that migrants have already been prosecuted for using khat? It is not true that they are proffered preferential treatment.
That said, both cannabis and khat need to be legalised.

We certainly do not need this imported behavior in our homeland.
Of course they will be allowed to possess and use illegal Khat in Malta but heaven help a Maltese person caught with a cannabis cigarette on our islands.
The laws bend to these illegal invader's favour it seems.

Tribal conflicts are the main reason for all the troubles leading to civil wars in their native countries. Now they are bringing their troubles here. Imagine if these people manage to create enclaves of different tribal communities in our country.

if these people fight each other , because they are from different tribes, it means they hate each other, and yet they are all Africans, with the same background and culture. How do you expect them to like us, let alone lntegrate with us.

@M.Brincat & Maria Schembri, it was a PERSONAL GUARANTEE of €5,000 - not a deposit. That means that the accused is signing a note to pay the sum in the event of default in the bail conditions. This of course raises another issue entirely - how valid is a €5,000 signature note from an irregular immigrant??? Would the bank accept such - no - so why does the court???

Khat is classified as a drug. Good to know how it was imported in the first place.

Some church groups and The UN insists and picture these immigrants as if they are in the process to be declared as Saints. But without any racism feelings, but it is a fact that these immigrants are coming from a very dangerous culture, they are causing a lot of chaos on our Small Island. We can't even count how many Nigerians have been caught in Drugs possession,How many immigrants tried to escape with a false passports to,how many serious fights took place at their centres.
This is Our reality cause many groups are trying to brainwash the maltese people as if these immigrants are peacefull looking for a better life so we'll live in an illusion.

Part 2
If we ever come to this state of affairs, then the Malta we know today will be long gone as tourism, property sales to foreigners and other important revenue earners to our coffers will have evaporated and dried up!
How long are we going to keep silent and let our politicians run roughshod over us, when we are facing with such a scenario right in front of our eyes?
Those who are responsible by their complacency and support in this kind of multi culturalism should be warned that this is un-patriotic and is harming our Malta in the long run.
Where is the Maltese courage that our fore-fathers always shown when faced with difficulties?

Part 1
Does Malta deserve these added problems and don’t we have enough on our plate, already?
From this news item it seems that these illegal immigrants are bringing their culture with them to Malta and the tribalism that divides these people is being introduced also in our country.
At the moment, the quantity of illegal immigrants in Malta is almost controllable by our forces, but if we continue with this regular influx, then the situation will be different and then Malta will become another battle-ground for these tribes!
Under this scenario, there will be dire consequences that Malta can ill afford by the losing of its identity and be also unfortunately considered as a Sub-Saharan African outpost in the Mediterranean!

Tribal warfare has been the scourge of many African countries for centuries - in modern times resulting in mass escapes towards safer havens (vide Sudan). It appears that it has now been imported to our shores as well - albeit, as yet, on a smaller scale.

Correct me if i am wrong but isn't Khat a type of narcotic
And if so how is khat being imported in Malta,
Did the police investigate who was the supplier of this narcotic?
Where any arrests made regarding the supply of Khat?
This is all we need in Malta-Tribe battles and a new narcotic.
Some troubles our Police and soldiers could do without.

Is the Khat mentioned in this article the stimulant referred to in the article hereunder? Are we allowing the illegal immigrants to cultivate drugs?!

So now we have gangs as well...nice...and if this man is a 'refugee', escaping his country for a better life...is this his idea of a better life? and another thing...where exactly does a migrant find 5000 euros to pay for bail?

A bail of €5,000 ... I wonder from where this guy managed to pay his bail!
