A skip situated directly outside the School of Music in Valletta has been removed, after The Times yesterday brought it to the council’s attention.

Students and staff at the Johann Strauss School of Music in Valletta had expressed their disgust over two skips placed adjacent to the premises, and the local council acted immediately.

The skip closest to the school was removed.

Staff had been complaining for years about the insufferable stench the skips emitted right under their windows, which due to swine flu directives had to be kept open.

Valletta mayor Alexei Dingli said: “We removed the skips for a trial period; hopefully, people do not start dumping rubbish right outside the school.”
