Roderick Gerada, 30 of Marsa, was today remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to having trafficked heroin and cocaine earlier this month. He also pleaded not guilty to the possession of counterfeit banknotes.

The court was told during the arraignment that Mr Gerada, a father of three, was previously employed in a gaming arcade but lost his job when the arcades were recently closed down.

The prosecution said he was in possession of €3,300 in fake banknotes.
